Dig Deep participants perform @ Metatron City

Metatron

Dig Deep participants Fina, Casey, Carl and Lina performed a fantastic opening set for Elf Tranzporter last Thursday at Newtown Workers Club in Fitzroy. Great to see other members of the crew getting up for the open mic session. It was great to see folks performing onstage and hear their beats through a big sound system. Check this gig out, it runs every Thursday night for the rest of June. Props to Cat and Grace from Multicultural Arts Victoria for organizing this night.

RocKwiz Schools at the Bowl Begins

The RocKwiz crew were in the Sidney Myer Music Bowl today for the first show of RocKwiz Schools at the Bowl. Charismatic host extraordinaire Brian Nankervis was awesome with the girls from Camberwell Girls Grammar School. There was a plethora of students that wanted to jam with the RocKwiz Orchestra and the four singers that performed the Youth Group classic ‘Forever Young’ did a mighty job.

The event is on for another three days, we will have some photos up as soon as we have permission from the schools involved, so stay tuned…

Wayfarer Project 2.0 coming to the Arts Centre end 2009

One of the projects Youth Ed is putting on this year called Wayfarer has morphed from a player/runner based scenario to a task based real world activity designed to promote social, political and environmental awareness.

The Wayfarer project is created by media artists Kate Richards and Martyn Coutts, check out Wayfarer version one here. I am catching up with Martyn today to drink coffee and get an update of how this exciting project is developing.

In the meantime, treat yourself to Martyn’s Brooke Solo
